Non Stop Celebrations! - Que la fete continue!

September was a busy month in Singapore. Celebrations of all types never stopped. So, we did enjoy too, as we like partying!
We have started our month with the 40th anniversary of the Island at the south of Singapore: Sentosa. In fact we did not expect anything going there, and the shows organised blew us out.
From the projection of graphics and videos on the giant Merlion sculpture with a wonderful musical background, to the Crane dance show in the bay (take a look http://youtu.be/T-ubgW6c4Y8), going through the mad Chilean acrobat playing with his hoops, we really had good time!

Another time, another party: the Kite festival. In the beautiful Marina Bay, thousand of kites were dancing together and everyone could build their own ones, it was great. Free concert, goodies, street artists, everything, except the wind for our kites was there. Not everyone can be a professional kiter!

September is the month of mid autumn festival, and as every year Chinatown is dressing up with wonderful colours and lights. This year the lanterns painted by kids were all over the place. A nice atmosphere, reminding us the preparation of Christmas! Very nice! 

 And finally, we ended the month by celebrating another 40th anniversary. The one of the Merlion in the bay of Singapore. The Merlion, a mythical creature with the body of a fish and the head of a lion, is the symbol of Singapore, originally a fishing village ("Temasek" in Javanese, which was the previous name of "Singapura", meaning Lion's city). That evening, historical films, local songs and fireworks stretched the night. Beautiful!

Septembre a ete un mois tres occupe. La rentree, evidemment, mais aussi parce que les fetes organisees a Singapour n'ont pas cesse! Du coup, on en a aussi profite, parce que la fete, nous, on aime ca!
Nous avons commence le mois avec le 40eme anniversaire de l'ile de Sentosa, situee au sud de Singapour. En fait, nous y sommes alles un peu par hasard et n'avions aucune attente particuliere.
Et bien, tout compte fait, les attractions montees pour l'occasion, nous ont tout simplement coupe le souffle!
De la projection d'animation et de videos sur le Merlion geant sur un superbe fond musical, jusqu'au spectacle des grues dans la baie (jeter un oeil - http://youtu.be/T-ubgW6c4Y8), en passant par le Chilien fou avec ses cerceaux, on en a pris plein les yeux!
Un autre evenement a ete le festival des cerfs-volants. Dans la baie de Marina, des milliers de cerfs-volants s'echangeaient des passes d'arme, chacun pouvait construire son cerf-volant, c'etait tres sympa. Concert gratuit, artistes de rue, tout etait reuni pour passer un bon moment, sauf que le vent n'etait pas assez fort pour que nos cerfs-volants decollent de la terre ferme! N'est pas pilote de cerf-volant qui veut!
Septembre est egalement le mois du festival d'Automne et comme chaque annee, Chinatown revet ses plus beaux apparats avec des couleurs et des lumieres magnifiques. Un atmosphere non sans rappeler les preparatifs de Noel.

Et finalement, nous avons termine le mois comme nous l'avions commence: un autre 40eme anniversaire, mais celui du Merlion.

Le merlion est une creature de legende avec un corps de poisson et une tete de lion. C'est egalement le symbole de Singapour, qui etait a l'origine un village de pecheur ("Temasek" en indonesien avant de devenir "Singapura", la ville du lion).

Cette soiree-la, les films historiques, les chansons et danses locales et les feux d'artifice ont illumine la nuit. Superbe!
