 Pour terminer ces vacances en pente douce, rien de tel que de belles plages de sable blanc, une mer turquoise, un soleil de plomb...

Cette derniere etape Thailandaise nous a amene a Krabi, petite ville balneaire de la cote ouest du sud de la Thailande.

A Krabi, nous avons trouve refuge dans un hotel au pied des falaises et au milieu de la verdure, en retrait du bord de mer, quelque peu surpeuple a notre gout.

La semaine a ete parcourue de quelques "croisieres" en bateau, a la decouverte des perles insulaires de la region.

De magnifiques pitons rocheux se dressent dans une mer d'une couleur invraissemblable et dont la temperature nous fait rester jusqu'a la derniere minute precedant le depart du bateau.

Les iles Bamboo, Phi Phi, Chicken Island, Poda Island, les grottes de Phra Nang, la plage de Railay sont autant de joyaux dont on ne peut se lasser d'admirer...

Pour ces vacances en Thailande, On s'est regale!

To end these holidays, there was nothing better than beautiful beaches of white sand, turquoise sea, and a wonderful sunshining...

This last stage of our Thai holidays brought us to Krabi, a little town of the west coast of the south Thailand.

In Krabi, we have found a haven in a small hotel at the dowhill of cliffs, in the middle of the greenery, away from the seaside, a bit too busy according to us.

We have spent the week to "cruise" on all types of boats, to discover the insular pearl of the area.

Magnificent rocky outcrops are coming up from a turquoise sea, with an amazing colour and with a temperature we wanted to enjoy until the last minute before the boat would leave...

Bamboo, Phi Phi, Chicken, Poda Islands, Phra Nang cave, Railay beach are the gems that you cannot stop admiring...

We really had great times in Thailand!

Chiang Mai et sa region: aller vers le nord, monter legerement en altitude, nous a fait decouvrir la fraicheur du climat thailandais et la chaleur humaine de ce pays.

Apres une nuit passee a bord du train couchettes Bangkok-Chiang Mai, dont on sait a quelle heure il part, mais personne ne se soucie guere de son heure d'arrivee, Chiang Mai est le point de depart d'etapes aventureuses pour la Thailande. Le nord a ete le theatre de nombreux traffics dans l'histoire, et il reste dans l'air la gentillesse des "petits gangsters de quartier".

L'accueil est d'une douceur et d'une sincerite sans pareil compare a Bangkok, les paysages sont d'une verdure magnifique, la nourriture pleine de decouverte et de delicieuses epices.

C'est dans les alentours de Chiang Mai que nous nous sommes amuses a Master Chef en prenant un cours de cuisine Thai (super!), que nous avons deambule a dos d'elephant dans la jungle (extra-ordinaire), rencontre les tribus des montagnes, emigres du Tibet ou de Chine, surfer sur les rapides d'une riviere a bord d'un raft (risque!), naviguer dans le triangle d'or en fremissant ne serait-ce que de penser au passe de cette region (etrange!). 700km a bord d'un 4X4 sur les routes et a travers les montagnes, C'etait notre petite aventure a nous....

Chiang-Mai and its region: to go to the north, to move up in the mountains, made us discovering the coolness of the weather as well as the warmth of the inhabitants.

After a night on board of the sleeper train between Bangkok and Chiang Mai, that nobody knows when it will arrive, Chiang Mai was the starting point of our adventures in Thailand.

In the history of Thailand, the north have been the field of all kinds of traffics and it stays a kind of atmosphere of nice goodfellas.

The contact with people is very sweet and sincere, no comparison with Bangkok, the sceneries have an undescriptible greeness, and the food is full of delicious spices and flavours.

It is around Chiang Mai, that we have played Master Chef, taking Thai cooking class (great!), that we have ridden on the back of elephants (wonderful animals), that we have met the hill tribes, coming from Tibet or China, that we have surfed through rapids on a raft (risky!), that we have navigated in the Golden Triangle, thrilling about what happened here in the past. 700km on a jeep, on roads, off-roads, it was our little adventure of the holidays...

Thailande, on nous avait tellement parle du pays du sourire, qu'il fallait que nous decouvrions ce pays de par nous-memes. Cela a ete la destination de nos grandes vacances. La diversite etait au rendez-vous avec 3 atterrissages prevus: Bangkok, Chiang Mai (au nord) pour la verdure et les reliefs, Krabi (au sud) pour profiter du soleil et de la douceur de vivre.

Apres 2h30 d'avion, nous nous sommes retrouves a Bangkok, capitale de la Thailande.

Bangkok est une ville a la rencontre d'une metropole grouillante en pleine expansion et de la tradition avec ses quelques 500 temples.

En fait pendant ces quelques jours a Bangkok, a bord de notre moyen de transport prefere, le tuk-tuk, nous avons fait des aller-retours permanents dans le temps.

Du quartier des affaires a la ville ancienne d'Ayutthaya, fonde au 14eme siecle, des centres commerciaux flambant neufs au floating markets et palaces flamboyants, nous avons bien demarre ces vacances...

 Thailand, we have heard so much about this country that we needed to go and see by ourselves. It is what we have decided to do for our summer break. Diversity was on the menu with 3 landing locations: Bangkok, Chiang Mai (North Thailand) for the greenery and the landscapes, Krabi (in the south) to cool down and enjoy life.

After 2 and half hours flying, we have discovered Bangkok, the capitale of Thailand.

Bangkok is at the crossroad of a growing modern city and the tradition with its nearly 500 temples.
We have never stopped to go back and forth in the past, on board on our preferred transport machine, the tuk-tuk.

From the financial district to the ancient city of Ayutthaya, founded in the 14th century, from the shining shopping malls to the floating markets and the palaces, we have started well our holidays!
